The ceremony was pond side framed by a garland trimmed arbor created by Wildflowers Florist of Margaretville. The service was translated in German and English by two friends of the couple capped by a reading by both father’s in their respective language.
The afternoon was filled with skits, speeches and laughter as Californians, New Yorkers, and Germans enjoyed the Catskill sunshine and breezes on the back lawn. Some family members attending were meeting for the first time. Appetizers and dinner were prepared by Amy’s Take Away, Lanesville. Fancy bites and comfort foods were carefully gleaned from the couple’s history creating a very personal menu.
A Macedonian bread and dollar dance started the evening festivities as Andrew’s grandmother carried a silver platter around the barn board dance floor. Constantin’s father came through later with a nose whistle and costume handing out treats to guests. DJ services were left up to family and friends and the eclectic mix of music included everything from Rap to Barry Manilow and everything in between. The German guests serenaded the crowd with a live chorus of love songs in their native tongue between INXS and Michael Jackson tracks.
The couple made the most of their weekend with long traveled family and friends hosting a casual rehearsal picnic at the farm with food supplied by the O’Neill’s Shire Pub and a simple brunch with bagels from Bagels & Cream both of Delhi. Staying just up the road at the Fieldstone Farm Cottage Andrew & Constantin enjoyed an extra days stay. Family members enjoyed the Covered Bridge Guest House in Delancey for the weekend.
