Worth the Wait

Emily was working on her veterinary degree in Florida and wanted to finish that part of her journey before marriage. The kicker- she loves pigs and they say good things come to those who wait. Hmmm!?! Needless to say, they had a wonderful wedding day filled with personal touches and pigs.

When June 20th, 2015, came around Emily & Billy had the details down. A classy country antler theme donned their invitations, last name logo wooden sign and even their custom corn hole set. Hunting, hiking and outdoor enthusiasts Emily & Billy really wanted to bring their personalities into their wedding day.

The food was prepared by TP’s in Stamford and featured Berkshire pork from Maple Shade Farm. Country BBQ style favorites like smoked mac n cheese, coleslaw, corn bread and South West Tex Mex donned the scrumptious buffet. A simple cake donned with a doe and a buck along with homemade pies, both from The Farmer’s Wife, were surrounded by cookies from family and had guests drooling for dessert.

The bride was beautiful in a bird cage headpiece and fitted beaded gown. And as promised, she posed with pigs and chickens around the working farm areas of Maple Shade. Not a picture was missed as the Focused on Forever photography staff captured every breathtaking vista from the covered bridge just down the road to the meadows on the hillside behind the barn.

Billy and the groomsman looked dapper in their khaki and cream duds posing with the bridal party dressed in sweet grass green. Simple flowers in whites and greens created by MSF Vintage featured a secret…artificial succulents from a popular craft store mixed in with real flowers that softly set off the beauty of the summer backdrop of the Catskill hills.

An incoming storm held off all day creating the fabulous skies for all the romantic couple shots. By the time the rain started everyone was dancing to old classics and modern day pop provided by the Silver Arrow band from NYC.

After a fun day of festivities, dancing, dinner and dessert Emily & Billy agreed it was more than worth the wait! We are so glad they included Maple Shade Farm in their love story.
